22 SEPTEMBER 14-20, 2016 Best of Fayetteville Best Downtown Restaurant Pierro's Italian Bistro 217 Hay Street/3010 Traemoor Village Drive 910.678.8885/910.491.4667 or www.pierrositalianbistro.com Pierro's is a European bistro in the heart of downtown Fayetteville. The restaurant's exposed brick walls and vintage hardwoods set the stage for the incredible Italian cuisine. Pierro's is owned by Michael Laurenceau and Daniel Fair Love, who pride themselves on the level of dining excellence that they have been able to bring to the Fayetteville community. Laurenceau, a North Carolina State graduate, was originally a computer programmer before he decided to leap directly into his entrepreneurial career with Pierro's. Love is currently the executive chef and founder of Pierro's. Like his partner, Love didn't start off in the culinary world. He spent seven years in the U.S. Army Medical Corps before following his dream of becoming a chef. Together, their mantra is, "Food, service, atmosphere; everything's better at Pierro's." With just one visit, you'll experience a unique dining adventure that makes Pierro's the premier Downtown dining destination. If you can't make it downtown, visit one of Pierro's other great locations, all of which specialize in classic Italian cuisine, hand-cut steaks, assorted seafood dishes and extensive wine lists to complement any entree. Best Dining with Kids Red Robin 502 Cross Creek Mall 910.864.4550 or www.redrobin.com Red Robin's history reaches back to the 1940s, starting as Sam's Tavern near the University of Washington. The tavern was soon renamed Sam's Red Robin after a popular song of the time, "Comes bob, bob, bobbin' along … " that the owner was known to habitually whistle. The tavern continued to evolve over the decades. In 1960, the tavern transitioned into the family-friendly restaurant it is today, debuting gourmet burgers on the menu in 1973. Today, Red Robin is a national restaurant that offers a family-friendly environment and deliciously inventive burgers. All burgers are fire- grilled to infuse a complex smoky flavor and topped with creative choices like chipotle aioli, blue cheese, fried eggs, grilled pineapple and fried jalapenos. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Televisions placed strategically around the restaurant display sporting events and children's shows to keep the entire family entertained until their meals arrive and steal the show.
