We would like to thank the sponsors .DM. because of all the support from businesses, residents and visitors! Thank you to everyone who purchased the One- of-a-Kind Rock Art! Thank you so much for your continued support. NEGATIVITY DEFEATED She evidently knows no limits when it ‘round! Thank you to all the volunteers who helped during the last fi ve months. This year’s event was a huge success FACTS are that the tire balancer from the Internet did not do the same job and the council determined to postpone the purchase of a TRUCK, not the balancer until April. [*] She lost the election, and it is time to Shanana “Rain” Golden-Bear PNQ President comes to [allegedly]breaking the laws; • bragging about not having a business license; • registering to vote while not a resident of Arizona; •running for council while not a resident of Arizona. She acquired an AZ ID card on 06.01.2010. BUT that alone is not proof of residence. She did not turn in her OK drivers’ license until later in the year. This clearly shows intent to NOT be an AZ resident. He following, proves intent: drivers’ license, car registration, major banking accounts, car insurance and most important, state income tax return along with Federal income tax return showing an AZ address. In any event she needs to show residence for a full year (12 months) before the date of the election. This she cannot prove. She claims to have never fi led OK income tax as she lives below the poverty level. She has a business for 10 or 11 years and still lives below the poverty level! I am really happy that she did not get a council seat if this is the best she can handle money. Let’s look at the misleading statement at the [recent] council meeting. It is my opinion that the person known as ‘that negative person’ needs to rethink her position. I feel nothing but pity for her. Perhaps she should consider moving to a different town and starting over. It will be a long uphill battle to remain here and be able to lose her ‘negative’ reputation. However, by moving she may be able to fi nd a peaceful life. Her business may even start to grow and she could get past the poverty level. May God have Guidance and Blessings for her. Skip Gallup [* Editor’s note: On Dec. 14, 2010, the Quartzsite Town Council approved Item #121410-4, the purchase of a tire balancer. Earlier that evening, the council voted to continue Item #121410- 3 until more information is received. This was regarding the purchase of a new Ford 250 pickup.] A BRAND NEW DAY FOR OUR TOWN I am so proud of all the fi ne citizens for seeing through all the lies and deceit that was generated by the dissidents. Now, let’s all pick up the pieces and M 16, 2011 will forge ahead and we will create jobs and we will be self-suffi cient. There are interested parties that are watching the outcome of our politics, and the opening of our land sales may bring interesting developments. I still have contacts with developers that are very interested in the future of The Town of Quartzsite. Make no mistake, I am not interested in any more politics, but I will do all I can in helping my Town of Quartzsite. In closing, I hope the man who continually brings in individuals who create dissention and upheaval is learning that our Citizens are beginning to know the real puppet master that he is. Wes Huntley, Quartzsite BAREFOOT & BOOTS THANKS ALL We would like to take this opportunity really make our Town a showplace of Arizona. We have a very hard working group of folks that are giving much of themselves towards a very successful centennial for our Town which is a great part of Arizona. Also we have a great walking path being constructed with no money of our own. This was a grant that was worked on way before you elected the “mayor”. Also we have a community building that was put together way before you elected the “mayor”. We will have a solar generating plant about eight miles north that will employ about 60 people that I also worked on that with a lot of help from Al Johnson. Our assisted living facility is still viable and being worked on. What will happen with Mr. Willits Yakama will be entirely up to our County Leaders. As far as Quartzsite is concerned, we to express our deepest thanks to all the people who have come out to see our shows this season. Our band has been playing all over town and in Brenda- -over 40 times this year!! We also do Celia’s Rainbow Gardens Spaghetti din- ner benefi t, and the annual Party in the Park to celebrate the Gardens. We start and end the season with these great events- be sure to come out and see us at the party on March 20!! We are looking forward to seeing everyone again next season. Thanks again for all your sup- port and good fun!! Barefoot and Boots band consists of Carolyn Torkenson, Rey Pederson, Bob Anderson and Jerry Mullins SMALL TOWN POLITICS Before the recall I was searching around for voting information, and was told that one person was mostly causing the strife and turning town politics upside down for his own benefi t. Someone told me his name, but I had no reason to remember it. My humble opinion is he should have paid more attention to the quality of the candidates he chose. Better yet, why not just go away and let the good town coun- cil do the job the majority of the voters have shown they want done? They are just good local folks, with no personal agendas. DUH!
