M 16, 2011 New Quartzsite Reparatory Theater! QUARTZSITE- Local resident, Barbara Bow- man is starting a new Reparatory Theater in Quartzsite. The fi rst play is “The Red Lamp”, a slapstick, with lots of physical comedy. There is a core of 4 actors and more will be added in the future. “The plays will all be fun, because I don’t think you should go to theatre and have tragedy…we have enough of that,” Bowman said. She has already sent for the fi rst scripts and hopes to hold the fi rst play in about 6-8 weeks, depending on location, and rehearsal schedules. Bowman said, “I’ve been in theatre for- ever and I think a live theater here will give the kids something to do in the sum- mer time”. She is exploring working with local organizations. The plays will be fundraisers for local organizations and charities. Bowman is looking for props for the fi rst production of 1930’s era clothing, furniture, a win- dow, tables, chairs, couch, drapes, etc. If you are interested in donating or acting, please contact Barbara Bowman to help. Feel free to leave Bowman a message at 602-349-2012. .DM. 15th annual Party in the Park, March 20 Celia’s Rainbow Gardens will be hold- ing its annual Party in the Park on Sunday, March 20 starting at noon.
