On Friday, January 14, 2011 a spe- cial meeting was held, as the council members approved fi ve (5) people to serve on the board. There was already talk of adding to the size of the board, with many agreeing it would be good to have a food vendor on the board. The New Board Members are: Vendor representative is Douglas True, of Paleo Enterprises; John “Skip” Gal- lup of Health & Development Board; Cecile “Cee” Carnevale, of the Quartz- site Business Chamber of Commerce; and RV Park/Swap Meet Represen- tatives Daniel Duke, of Prospector’s Panorama, and Randie Farish, of Sce- nic Road RV Park. All fi ve newly appointed board mem- bers were present and gathered after- wards to determine when their fi rst meeting would be held, (date unavail- able at press time). This and all municipal board meet- ings are open to the public. This pub- lisher suggests that each vending, swap meet, RV Park, etc. recruit one or two person(s) to represent them and attend the meetings. That’s just my suggestion to help with dissemi- nating accurate information back to everyone, and to make sure you have a voice. They say, “If you don’t partici- pate, you can’t complain.” Congratulations to the folks willing to step up and get involved with this new board. “I hope this will improve communi- cations between the vendors, swap meets, RV parks and the town coun- cil,” said Town Manager, Alex Taft. All meetings will be posted on the regular town posting sites. For more information contact Town Hall at 928- 927-4333 or visit www.ci.quartzsite.az.us.
