J������ 19, 2011 ASSESSOR’S CORNER Series 1 of 10 Parker, AZ - The La Paz County Asses- sor’s offi ce is now preparing for the ap- plication period of Property Tax relief programs for taxpayers that reside in our County. The types of programs available are: Property Tax Exemption for Widow, Widowers, and Disabled Persons; the Senior Valuation Protection Option (aka the Valuation Freeze) for senior 65 or over; Property Tax Deferral pro- gram; Property Tax Exemption for Non-Profi t Organizations; Arizona’s Historic Property Reduction Program; Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act; Property Tax Exemption for Native Americans; Religious Property Ex- emption; additional exemptions listed in ARS Title 42 Article 3. Exemptions Between the months of January 1 and March 1 of each calendar year, the La Paz County Assessor accepts applica- tions for all the tax relief programs. Application forms for each type of program are now available at La Paz County Assessor’s Offi ce. American Made! During the Property Tax Exemption application period, the La Paz County Assessor’s Offi ce visits some of the outlying areas for your convenience and we notify our taxpayers through the media such as radio, cable, news- paper, fl yers, etc. Let’s take advantage of this service and watch for this an- nouncement during the Holidays and throughout the application period. Each type of property tax relief pro- gram has certain guidelines that must be met before consideration, such as: Residency, household income, medi- cal, total property(s), age, property status, and for organizations, pre-req- uisites of exemption status.
