Hi Jolly Daze Parade a fun success! by Shanana “Rain” Golden-Bear The Jolly Daze Parade and fun at the park on Saturday, Jan. 8th was an- other great event. There were a few last minute glitches, as Anita Carlson, coordinator, was pulled away to the front desk at Town Hall, just two days before the parade. Thank you, Anita for all your work! A huge thank you to Violet Kiss teers: Monica Timberlake, Skip Gal- lup, Dinice Ross, Teri Frausto, Alex Taft, PJ Bettmann and her rock paint- ers for painting the awards again this year, Wes & Mary Huntley, Elmer who, with short notice, offered to be the MC this year. She did a great job! Our wonderful judges were Rich- ard Trusty, Verla Fish, Suzan Fonda, Sandy Gilbert, & Troy Anderson. “The Travelers” provided fantastic music and entertainment at the park while folks enjoyed delicious food from Quartzsite Fire Dept. and First As- sembly of God Church. Many thanks to our tireless volun- London and the Hams, the Quartzsite Business Chamber of Commerce for their support, Quartzsite Police Chief Jeff Gilbert and his offi cers, Quartzsite Fire Chief Kevin Hess and his depart- ment, Judge Kimberlin, all the organi- zations that had a booth at the park.
