If it's raining outside,
turn on some music &
dance up a storm inside!
A rivet is a special kind
of bolt used to fasten two
pieces of metal together.
The most
familiar kind
is shaped a
bit like a
mushroom, but
rivets come in
many shapes and sizes.
Rivets are often heated to
very high temperatures
and then pressed through
pre-cut holes in
the metal.
Then the flat
end is
hammered to create a
seal. As the metal cools,
it forms a tight closure.
