In December and January, the Department adds Friday classes to the schedule. UPCOMING QUARTZSITE DATES: All Classes are held at Senior Center Wednesdays & Fridays in January 9am & 10:30am The food handler card must be obtained annually. For more information contact the Health Dept. at 1112 Joshua Ave. Parker. Or call 928-669-1100. January 16, 2013 Council updates Quartzsite Town Council held a special meeting on January 2nd. The council unanimously approved to bind insurance coverage beginning Jan. 4th, which was an overlap from the Risk Pool's coverage ending on Jan. 6th. Interim Town Manager explained the details of the new insurance which includes General Liability and Professional Liability with the new larger deductible of $100,000. Many recent claims against the town have not incurred any payout, however the amount of claims have increased over the past years. Council also unanimously approved the rates for renting the Community Center. Bruno explained the rental agreements, that the kitchen is a "warming kitchen", and the use of liquor will include additional agreements, Council adjourned to Executive session to discuss its position regarding settlement discussions to avoid litigation with former Town Manager. No further action was taken. SWEET DARLENE'S RESTAURANT & BAKERY Quartzsite Town Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 8th. Before the council adjourned into Executive Session, Council Member Pat Workman motioned the Executive Session be recorded, otherwise she would not attend. Bruno explained they were recorded and protected. Council adjourned into Executive Session to discuss terms of employment or dismissal of Martin Brannan as Town Attorney. Council returned from Executive Session and approved unanimously to terminate the contract with Martin Brannan for cause. Approved unanimously the appointment of Dennis Kuehl to Vendor, RV Park & Swap Meet Board. Approved unanimously Ordinance 13-01 regarding Town Code section 2-4-6 relating to the order of business at council meetings. Approved unanimously, adopting the new agenda format as presented.
