Loose Leaf Season Right Around the Corner
The 2013-2014 Loose Leaf Pickup Season is right around the corner, scheduled to run
from Dec. 2 to March 3. The City of Fayetteville will distribute hangtags on residents'
doors and unveil a webpage devoted to the service. The hangtags will show which dates
neighborhoods will be serviced with loose leaf pickup.
To participate in Loose Leaf Pickup Season, citizens should rake leaves and pine straw curbside by day prior
to their pickup date. Leaves and pine straw are the only acceptable items to be collected - no tree limbs. The
leaves and pine straw should be placed on the top of the curb away from storm drains and out of the road. Bad
weather may cause delays.
During Loose Leaf Pickup Season, citizens can pick up trash bags at any recreation center or fire station.
Citizens do not have to wait until Loose Leaf Pickup Season to have loose leaves picked up. If they put leaves
out in sturdy bags or containers on their regular yard debris day, they will be picked up weekly. This also helps
keep leaves out of the storm drains.
For questions, citizens can call (910) 433-1532 or (910) 433-1FAY (1329).
