F CUS On FAYTV7 Moves to Digital Channel on Time Warner Cable The City of Fayetteville would like to advise the public that some residents will be affected by recent changes instituted by Time Warner Cable regarding the City's government access channel, FAYTV7. Time Warner Cable is now broadcasting FAYTV7 in digital format and viewers who do not use a cable box will be affected by the changes. Time Warner Cable has set up a toll free number to assist cable subscribers affected by the changes. Subscribers can call 1-855-286-1736 to talk with a Time Warner Cable representative on how to reconfigure their television sets to continue watching FAYTV7. Anyone with a set-top cable box is not affected by the change and will still be able to view FAYTV7 on Time Warner channel 7. Citizens who do not have Time Warner Cable may view FAYTV7 programming on the web at www.faytv7.com. Calendar of Events NOVEMBER 5- Municipal General Election City Residents to Receive Schedules by Mail City residents need to watch their mailboxes the first week of November for an important envelope. The envelope will contain the City's loose leaf collection schedule for this year and the holiday solid waste collection schedule for 2013-2014. "This is a change in the way we distribute this information and we want to let residents know to look for the envelope in the mail this year," said Jerry Dietzen, Environmental Services director. He added that, previously, stickers and hang tags were distributed by hand. Dietzen also said that while it was a good system, the method was sometimes hampered by weather challenges or carts that aren't out every week. Additionally, the use of automated trucks operated by one person supported the change in delivery systems. Mailing will put the information into all single family homes in the city limits. The envelope to watch for is the standard size, white, with the City logo as the return address and a large message printed on the front that says: Please Do Not Throw Away! Three City departments and Waste Management have partnered on this project. The three City departments include: Parks & Recreation is responsible for the City's loose leaf collection; Stormwater Division is including a brochure on their stormwater management programs; and Environmental Services has the holiday collection schedule and a general brochure of services. For more information, please call (910) 433-1329 (1FAY). Ann Street Bridge Closed According to City Engineering & Infrastructure staff, there was a fire under the Ann Street bridge Oct. 14. The Fire Department, Police Department, Streets Division and Traffic Services Division responded to the scene. The road will be closed until a structural assessment can be completed. This is the second time a fire has broken out under the bridge in the last two years. 25- Regular City Council Meeting, City Hall Council Chamber Sign Up for Our E-News Tell your friends about the Fayetteville Focus!
