Washington Street, Shelby starting with a social and dinner at 6 pm and the mystery will start at 7 pm. With Halloween only a few days away, the Murder Mystery com- pany and participants will try to solve the Midnight Murder at the Masquerade. The fall Murder Mystery involves the death at midnight at the Masquerade Ball. Join with your friends and work through the clues and suspects. Tickets are $35 per person and a table of eight is $280. Tickets may be gotten at the BGCCC Club House, Don Gibson Theatre or using the Club's web- site www.bgccleveco.org and go to the Upcoming Event tab to buy tickets online. The Murder Mystery fundraisers have been Board member Susan Allen's project with the Club. "It is an enjoyable evening. People have a good meal and then try to solve the mystery which has members of the audience participat- ing as suspects. People get into their roles, and it is fun to see how all the clues come together." As part of past Murder Mysteries, participants came dressed as wed- ding guests, golfers, or guests at an ugly Christmas sweater party. Over the past ten years, the Club has used Murder Mysteries to raise funds to support outdoor experiences for kids over the summer. Each year, as kids participate in the Jack & Ruth Schweppe Summer Day Camps at the Main Club, the Casar Club, and Teen Center, they learn about the out- doors as they are part of the SonRidge Farm Camp or try hiking the trails in Crowders Mountain or South Mountain State Parks. Children who attend the SonRidge Farm Camp get to learn about life on a farm interacting with animals, making a pizza with goat cheese or participating in a goat show. The students work on their writing skills as they do a daily blog to record the events and experiences of the day. One child wrote in her blog, "This is so much fun. I want to live on a farm!" Josh Propst, executive director BGCCC shared, "This year we expanded our summer camps and served over 150 children each day. We want them to learn about nature, where food comes from, and enjoy being outdoors doing something differ- ent. To me, seeing a kid feed a baby goat or sing- ing songs as they hike on a trail is worth the effort to raise additional funds to make these opportuni- ties happen." Enjoy a magical event by contacting the BGCCC at 412 W. Sumter to get tickets or the Don Gibson Theatre or online at www. bgccleveco.org. It's a fun way to end the month. We are sharing pic- tures from past Murder M y s t e r i e s over the past ten years and campers at S o n R i d g e Farm Camp on this page.
