Page 16 www.DesertMessenger.com December 19, 2012 New AWC board member Melissa Wright sworn in Parker, AZ - Melissa Wright has been elected to the Arizona Western College District Governing Board. She was sworn in by County Superintendent Janice Shelton on December 12, 2012, at the La Paz County Learning Center. Wright fills the board seat held by Anna Camacho for the past 11 months. Camacho was appointed after Pam Stroud resigned her board position in December 2011. The position appeared on the General Election Ballot in November 2012 as a regular six year term. Melissa Wright ran against James Brouillette and garnered 1105 votes to Brouillette's 772 votes. Wright will assume her duties as the District Governing Board representing District 2 on January 1, 2013. According to the redistricting, La Paz District 2 now includes precincts 54 (upriver), 56 (Wenden), 57(Salome), 58 (Quartzsite), 62 (Vicksburg), and 63 (Alamo). Dr. Glenn E.
