December 19, 2012 www.DesertMessenger.com WACOG Conference on Aging planned Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) Area Agency on Aging is hosting a Conference on Aging on January 31, 2013 at the Pivot Point Conference Center in Yuma. The conference will be a full day of educational opportunities for anyone that works with the senior population. The Conference will feature three learning tracks: Caregiver, Elder Abuse, and General Aging, in order to include topics for a variety of participants including law enforcement, family caregivers, nurses, and social workers. Early bird registration is $75 and closes on January 2nd. Registration for seniors, family caregivers and students with a valid college ID is only $50. Family Caregiver scholarships are available and applications are accepted through January 11th. Conference sponsors are AARP, Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., Cenpatico, Corona Optique and contributing partner, Alzheimer's Association Desert Southwest Chapter.
