February 15, 2012 Thrift Store donates to Quartzsite Fire Department The Quartzsite Community Thrift Store was able to make another do- nation to another worthy group this month. At a recent board meeting, it was voted to give the Quartzsite Fire Department a check for $500 to help with their costs--the money was raised at the store thanks to the donations from the community that are sold at the store. Firefighters Eric Hosen and Prentice Taylor came to the store after the board meeting to accept the check. The volunteers and com- mittee at the store are delighted to be able to give funds to organizations that work for the good of the community, and hope to be able to do more in the future. The month of February's featured Artist at Quartzsite Art Guild the Horizon Community Bank is Oney Budge. Oney will be displaying pet portraits of our local friends here in Quartzsite. The portraits make wonderful gifts for any occasion. Birth- days, Anniversaries, Christmas, etc. Come by and get a card for your next occasion or call Oney at 928-927-8033. JoAnn McKnight will be displaying her painting in the HCB in Parker the month of February. JoAnn has a variety of nature scenes and animals. JoAnn can be called at 530-356-2842.
