Friday afternoon, Dec. 2nd following an investi- gation into allegations that she had intimi- dated a witness. Jones was taken into cus- tody and booked into La Paz County Jail. Initial reports online suggested Jones had been charged with "Influencing a Witness", a class 5 felony. However, there is no offi- cial word from Quartzsite Police, as of press time. Jones went before Salome Justice of the Peace Karen Slaughter who set bail at $10,000, which has been posted. This is the fifth arrest in the past year for Jones, who became famous when the vid- eo of her June 28th arrest at a Quartzsite Town Council meeting went "viral" on the Internet. Previous charges had been dis- missed, most without prejudice, allowing the town to refile at a later date. More recently Jones was charged with three counts of vending without a permit, one count of operating a kennel without a permit. Jones has operated a dog groom- ing business in Quartzsite for many years and publishes tabloid, The Desert Freedom Press (which has not been issued a Town of Quartzsite business license since begin- ning in Dec. 2010). Jones is due in court on Wed. Dec. 14th. Since being released, Jones' personal Facebook page appears to have been deleted.
