Page 26 The Bouse Genies celebrated our 4th Anniversary on Nov. 18th as we packed the gift bags to be given to every attendee of the Genies in the Desert Genealogy Technology Seminar, which will be held at the Blue Water Casino on Dec.9, 2011. Early registration fees are $35 for BGS members, and $40 for non-members before 1 December. Later registration or at the door fees are $40 BGS members and $45 for non-members. The registration fee includes lunch. Flyers and forms are available at the Bouse Public Library, or contact BouseGenies@gmail.com for more information and a registration form. Come join us for our regular meetings here in Bouse at the Bouse Community Building, next to the Library. Meeting dates are 2 & 16 December 2011, and 13 & 27 January 2012. Abuse Prevention Coalition Quartzsite Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (QSAPC) was started in sum- mer of 2007. Our mission is to prevent drug and alcohol misuse and abuse in our community. With the help of many local civic, community leaders, and con- cerned citizens we have gathered much needed information about our com- munities needs to prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol in our community. The QSAPC started the "Dump the Drugs" location at our local police sta- tion, located at 305 N. Plymouth Rd. for anyone to take their expired and unused medications for proper disposal. To date we have collected 148 pounds of prescription and over the counter medications. • Candidates wishing to apply for the three council seats can pick up packets now. The QSAPC holds a FREE Movie night each month (except December) to give the families and other members of the community opportunity to have a "Fam- ily Night". • Packets are now available at Town Hall, 465 N. Plymouth Ave., Quartzsite. • Candidate packets filing deadline is no later than December 14, 2011 at 5:00pm. • Candidate packets should be filed at: Town Hall, 465 N. Quartzsite Substance December 7, 2011 Arrest Report from QPD The following arrests were made by Quartzsite Police Department from Nov. 11 - Dec. 1, 2011 11-13: Kevin LaBlue, age 56, of Quartzsite, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Assault, and Criminal Trespassing. 11-14: Jeremy Michael Shell, age 30, and Shania Marie Shell, age 25, both of Quartzsite, were each cited and released for Disorderly Conduct per Domestic Violence and Assault. 11-17: Richard Mackie, age 75, of Quartzsite, was cited and released for Open Container, Passing in a No Passing Zone, and Speed Greater than Reasonable and Prudent. 11-25: Darrick Guertin, age 37, of Quartzsite, was arrested for Super Extreme D.U. I. 11-30: Rosa Celaya, age 44, of Quartzsite, was arrested on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. 12-1: Dennis Baragar, age 54, of Quartzsite, was arrested for Burglary, Trafficking Stolen Property, Possession of Prescription Only Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
