December 7, 2011 Quartzsite- Cars ~ Trucks ~ ATV's ~ Bikes and people everywhere, that was the site at the Town Park Saturday Nov 19th> Wish it had been all for the Mad Dash Turkey Hunt. But, it wasn't. We shared the Town Park with the metal detect- ing club and were we glad they were there. Some of the Turkey hunters came back early… they knew where all the "Clues" to the turkeys lead them and they were able to go visit the metal detecting club just to see what was going on, while they waited for the rest of the Hunters to return. The Mad Dash Turkey hunt had a small turn Mad Dash Turkey Hunt review out but a really great group of people and a lot of fun. Most requested that this be an ongoing fun thing to do for November in Quartzsite. (So the Rotary Club just may be able to continue this event…they'll see) The Quartzsite Rotary club would like to thank EVERYONE who participated with the Mad Dash turkey Hunt. All of the businesses and residents who contributed Prizes for this event, the residents and organizations who participated in the Hunt, and all the volunteers who came out to help make it a success. A very special thank you to "The Little Sis- ters" for their entertainment and 1st Assembly of God Church for preparing all the food. By the way if any of you who did not get out to the "HUNT" want to try some wonderful soup, the Corn Chowder 1st Assembly of God served was absolutely great. And a perfect combination to go with the rest of the meal on a cold day. After the meal and entertainment, prizes were given to almost every participant. One of the re- ally fun groups ~ the Women against the Men~ received Dinners for Two for the Women and funny plaques for the men. However the men in this group did come in last with the number of Turkeys caught, so they received the FROZEN TURKEY but had to promise that they would cook it for the Women. www.DesertMessenger.com This fun event, sponsored by the Quartzsite ro- tary Club was such a really fun time as a prelude to the "Arizona Centennial Finale" to take place on Feb. 14th 2012. Be sure to mark your calendars and plan to be in Quartzsite for the Valentine's Day Celebration and what a perfect day for the Arizona Centen- nial Celebrations all over the State.
