Page 18 WOW! Thank you to everybody that helped make Thanksgiving a success this year! We could not have done it without you. Our goal was 100 bags with a dinner for two; well we pro- vided 157 meals!!! That shows how great the folks in this town are. Thank you to: Sandee Wall, The Lutheran Church, Gene & Maggie Ross, Quartz- site Elementary School PTA, Scholars' Academy, 4-H group, Bingo players at the Senior Center, and dozens of walk- ins with a bag or a can or box. Again, Thank You. Next project is Christmas: Actually Food Bank updates we have two projects! The first is the Christmas bags for the needy just like Thanksgiving. And this year I am going to work with Marilyn McFate, combining the Christ- mas gifts for the shut-ins she visits with COP program (Citizens On Patrol) and the seniors that are alone. Other years we have each done our own thing but this year we need to make it a little eas- ier on ourselves. So along with canned goods for the food bags we are asking for small gifts to put in bags for the other project. The dollar store in Blythe has so many things. The smiles and comments on some of these people's faces when they get a gift is priceless! www.DesertMessenger.com Some say, "That's all I got; thank you for thinking about me". So, since we have more working space at the food bank, you can drop off things there or the Salvation Army or call me and we'll find a way to get to you.
