January 15, 2014 5 www.DesertMessenger.com C&B Happy New Year Isaiah 58 & Quartzsite Food Bank Quartzsite- Covenant Lutheran Church representative, Maggie Ross recently delivered $800.00 checks to both Mike Hobby, Isaiah 58 and Carol Kelly, Quartzsite Food Bank. These funds were raised in October at the Community Spaghetti Feed and then forwarded to the Lutheran Thrivent Organization. Thrivent returned the monies with an extra $500.00 totaling $1600.00. We are so pleased at the generosity of Covenant Lutheran Church's congregation and their continuing financial support for both community organizations. Covenant also provided meals for over 50 families at Thanksgiving and spent another $600.00 to provide special Christmas cookies and treats for both seniors and local families.
