By Joanne Winer If you find yourself with nothing to do on a Saturday night every other weekend, and you like looking at old, vintage, antique and classic vehicles, you don't need to travel anywhere to a car show, you just have to go to the center of Quartzsite, the corner between B-10 and Hwy 95 at the Shell Station, and you will see lots and lots of great looking refurbished and remodeled vehicles of every kind you can imagine. The cruise-ins started almost three years ago, when Paul Carnevale, manager at the Shell Station, and his father Tony, started remodeling and fixing up some old cars--they soon met many more car enthusiasts and started the Cruise In every other Saturday night at the Shell Station so they could all get together and see what each other's vehicles turned out like, and to show them off, of course, to anyone who came for the evening's fun. What started out as just a summer's thing to do when nothing else was going on has now been one of the most popular nights in town--you can find them all parked around the front of the Shell Station--cars, tractors, motorcycles, trucks, and other vintage vehicles in all their glory just waiting to be oohed and ahhed at!! The Shell Station also offers discounts on drinks, hot dogs and ice cream, and there are door prizes every other week--be sure to check it out next time you are looking for something different to do--its lots of fun and you get to meet some really talented people who have taken these rusted out old vehicles and given them a new lease on life.
