Children's good health, education and character development are Kiwanis' highest priorities and are continually looking for new friendships, community service opportunities and ways to enhance a child's personal growth. Fayetteville Kiwanians are incredibly proud of their 100 years of commitment and dedication to service, youth activities and community projects. Below are some of the many projects and activities currently being sponsored by Fayetteville Kiwanians. Reading Is Fun: Focus — 4 and 5-year-old pre- schoolers. Kiwanis distributed over 4,000 books to children enrolled in the Head Start and Chapter One programs. Little League Baseball: Focus — 10, 11 and 12-year-olds. e Kiwanis Club sponsors dozens of teams in the Honeycutt League. Kiwanians coach, provide announcers and purchase, sell and erect outfield advertising signs. Kiwanis Talent Night: Focus — Kindergarten through 12th grade Kiwanis supports the cultural arts and provides a first-class venue for talented stu- dents to showcase musical and acting talents. Terrific Kids Program: Focus — Kindergarten through 6th grade. e largest, most extensive Ter- rific Kids program in the world!. Kiwanis recognizes over 31,000 Terrific Kids awards each year. is program promotes self-esteem by encouraging and rewarding good behavior. Salvation Army Bell Ringing: A Christmas tradi- tion since 1960, the Fayetteville Kiwanis Club has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support Salvation Army programs. Scholastic Achievement: Focus — Middle School students. Club members recognize and reward students who earn top academic and attendance records. Farm City Week: Annually, the Kiwanis Club hon- ors the local agricultural community for their hard work and contributions to producing the world's most cost effective and safest food supply. Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville Endowment Fund: Fayetteville Kiwanian's raise over $100,000 annually for local community projects. e interest earned from the endowment supports these projects. Reverse Car Raffle: Focus — Funding other projects. A night of fun, food and fellowship while over 300 ticket holders await to see who will be driv- ing home in a brand new car! is event raises over $24,000 annually for community projects. Kiwanis Golf Tournament: Focus — Funding for local projects. is major fundraiser supports local organizations and agencies that address child abuse and provide valuable support services for abused children. ese are only a few of the over 30 projects, com- mittees and services the Kiwanis Club of Fayetteville support with their time, talent and financial resourc- es. e Club also donates thousands of dollars in grants to organizations and agencies whose mission and goals align with the Club's.
