United Way of North- ern California recently announced the opening of the application process for FY 2018 Community Im- pact Grants. The board of city trust- ees held their regular monthly meeting in the city hall last night. After reading the minutes of the last meeting the board au- dited and passed the cur- rent bills and ordered war- rants drawn. The trustees were hon- ored last night by the pres- ence of about forty young girls from the eighth grad of the grammar school who are at present taking a course in civil government. One discussion came on re- garding the railroad track on Oak street. A petition signed by a number of prop- erty holders was before the board asking them to elim- inate this track. The discus- sion became quite heated and the young ladies had an opportunity to see how mere man acts when look- ing for legislation. After the matter was thoroughly discussed it was passed over until next Monday night to be acted upon. Parties interested are requested to be on hand at that time. — March 7, 1917 100 YEARS AGO...
