Fayetteville's Public Works Commission wants you to know that – contrary
to "popular belief " – beautiful gardens (and lawns) can flourish
with minimal watering. By taking steps – such as choosing
drought resistant plants and grass, grouping plants with similar
water needs, planting in shady areas when indicated and
using mulch – you can have attractive landscaping that
conserves our precious water supply. (During dry
weather, watering lawns and gardens can account for up
to 75% of your household water use!) For more information,
see the Water Wise Gardening
brochure on our website,
under Conservation.
