Through May 7th, The David Mccune International Art Gallery at Methodist University welcomes an exhibition from Auguste Rodin, one of the most well-known artists in the world. "Rodin Portraits of a Lifetime: Selections from the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Foundation" includes 17 sculptures from Rodin, portraits of the artist and more. Viewing is available Tue., Wed. and Fri. 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Thu. 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Sat. 12 noon to 4 p.m. The exhibition is free. Gallery director, Silvana Foti said "In other cities, you would expect to pay $20 to see such a fabulous display." For more information, call (910) 425- 5379 Until March 5th, you can see "Romare Bearden: Beat of a Different Drum" at the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. The free exhibition includes prints from Bearden's book "Li'l Dan, The Drummer Boy: A Civil War Story," audio narration by Maya Angelou and artifacts from the Civil War period courtesy of the Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex. The Arts Council Gallery is open Mon. - Thu., 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Fri. 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.; Sat. 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. For more information, call (910) 323-1776. Fayetteville State University's Rosenthal Art Gallery hosts "Black Panther: The Revolutionary Art of Emory Douglas" from March 5th through April 2nd. This special exhibit traces the work created while Douglas was the Minister of Culture for the Black Panther Party.
