Larzabal hit a no-doubt, three-run homer over the left field wall and the Red Bluff Spartans softball team beat the visiting Oroville Tigers 15-6 on Tuesday. Larzabal, who plans to attend Feather River College, said the feat felt good. Senior second-baseman Haley Harris and Bryce Etzler also were honored Tuesday as the Spartans wind down the season and prepare to head to the Northern Section Division III playoffs. Harris, who is headed to UC Riverside on a softball scholarship, went 1 for 3 with an RBI on the night. Etzler's season was cut short by a knee injury, but she's heading to McNeese State University in Louisiana to play softball and study business administration and accounting. "All three of our seniors have been real consistent this year," Spartans coach J Howell said. "Obviously losing Bryce was a real downer but Haley and Larz have just been extremely steady, provided great leadership and they make you very proud as a coach." Coming into Tuesday's game, the Spartans (28-6, 11-1 Sac River League) were tied for the No. 1 seed See ROLL, page 2B 4 p.m. Chicago leads series 1-0 STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS Boston CNBC Toronto 4 p.m. Boston leads series 2-1 Washington NBCS N.Y.
