Weed said, The BLM will not allow any commercial activity on their land but welcomes our presentation of as much knowledge as possible. Likewise, December 5, 2012 BLM rules dont allow us to make one penny more than actual expenses incurred in planning and organizing and is FREE of charge for ALL to attend. Opening Ceremony will be on Tuesday January 15th and will ofcially end with theLast Hoorah Cookout on the Coals on Friday afternoon January 25th. Theyll have a Farewell Lunch cookout after the Yard Sale on Friday the 25th so folks will have a chance to say Farewell til Next Year to those heading out to Palm Springs for the Desert Rats Hamfest on the 26th. If youre not an amateur radio operator yet, or want to upgrade your license to a higher class, youll be able to take your exams right there at Quartzfest* and have your call sign or upgrade from the FCC by weeks end. If youve never attended Quartzfest* youve missed out on a HAM Experience of a lifetime said Weed. If you dont know anyone at Quartzfest* when you get there, by the time the week is over, youll have friendships that will last forever. Hams Talk in on 146.55 simplex Steve KO4QT and Angel Weed www.quartzfest.org.
