Wilson of La Paz Economic Development Corporation, presented an update of the APSsponsored Focus Futured II Strategic Plan for Economic Development to council members and the public on Tuesday, Nov. 27th. The ���ve-year economic development plan will be unveiled to the public on Wed. Dec. 12th at BlueWater Resort. The program is a community-driven planning process that presents four initiatives that contribute to the development of a vibrant economy and community where residents and businesses thrive. ���The Plan is intended to be a living, evolving document that should be regularly reviewed and updated to responde to the changing economy,��� said Wilson, ���as the plan���s development and implementation will require broad community participation.��� Quartzsite Town Council member Patricia Anderson serves on the Action Team, which meets monthly. The group���s four initiatives are: Growing Through Business Development, Hospitality & Tourism, Healthcare Expansion, and Community Development Promoting Quality of Life & Livability. This joint effort includes partnering with local chambers & tourism organizations, civic groups, CRIT, Now Open in Blythe! BLM, APS, AWC, County of La Paz, local Town governments, WACOG, Joint Technology Education District, School Superintendents, Small Business Development Centers, UA Cooperative Extension, Workforce Investment Board, McMullen Valley Water Conservation & Drainage District, La Paz EDC, and La Paz Regional Hospital. The plan focuses on a regional approach to ful���lling a vision for future generations.
