We all have so much to be grateful for in our lives, if we only look beyond our pain. In 1987 I ���rst ventured into this amazing town of Quartzsite, purchasing product for a new business venture. Shortly after falling in love with Quartzsite, I learned of the Harmonic Convergence, an important moment in the Mayan Calendar. We all know the stories regarding the end of the Mayan Calendar. But in 1987, hope ���lled the air as millions of people gathered in prayer worldwide for peaceful changes to come in 2012. Well, what a world of difference from what we live in today! Even in Quartzsite, citizens argue with each other over seemingly minor issues. With the onslought of Internet anonymous postings, there appears there���s to be an increase in folks being drawn down into their darkest selves. Many local residents have taken the brunt of unrelenting anger directed at us over the past few years by self-proclaimed activists. The shear mention of words such as Peace, Joy, Happiness brought attempts of public ridicule, both online and in print. But many Quartzsite folks joined together keeping the Spark of Hope Alive. We welcome Snowbirds and Vendors with hope for a wonderful season. We love seeing old friends return to share stories of summer travels; new products arrive with each vendor and seasonal business. As we transition toward the end of the Mayan calendar, maybe anger will end, too. Quartzsite will not just survive, but will thrive in the coming years! Stories of Gratitude, Peace, Joy and Happiness are everywhere around Quartzsite! We just have to want to see them! Imagine reading about Gratitude every day in a book? That is happening - I am honored to be accepted into the world of Gratitude Authors in the upcoming book, 2013 Celebrating 365 Days of Gratitude which will soon be available on Amazon.com. ...Peace! ��� 40 YEARS FROM PAGE 1 They have always been a great addition to the community through their support of and donations to events in town, and have always been a popular place to shop for their fantastic meats, homemade sausage, brats, and butcher shop quality products in their meat and deli departments. They feature other services also--ATM, ���sh and game licensing, APS payment station, lottery, beer and liquor and much more. You have to see it all to believe it!! They are now also featuring some homemade dinners from their store kitchen, and these items have been really popular with those folks who do not want fried foods all the time, or who don���t cook for themselves and don���t want to go out to eat. Their staff is always friendly, and their customers come back year after year because it is such a great place to shop. The Moores and Garlows would like to celebrate their 40 years in Quartzsite by inviting their customers to come to the store on December 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a get together where they will serve up some free hot dogs and more. They want to thank the community for supporting the store, and hope everyone will come and help them celebrate their 40 years in Quartzsite.
