Learn How to Plant Trees Properly through FTCC Many customers have noticed the bar graphs that help compare utility use are missing from their PWC bill. Our recent customer information system change involved many systems that had to be converted and upgraded. We removed the graphs until we could ensure the systems were producing an accurate and relevant usage tool. We know the graphs have been missed and are working to bring them back. We anticipate graphs What is CodeRed? PWC customers may receive phone messages sent by PWC through the CodeRed Alert system. CodeRed is used by many organizations to provide timely information to citizens and customers. For example, Cumberland County uses this service for weather alerts and emergency notifications. If you receive a CodeRed Alert, please don't be alarmed and please don't hang up. The message that follows is information PWC feels is important for you to know in a timely manner. We use CodeRed to notify customers of important information about utility services including utility work being done in your area, such as street light installation and construction updates. As a PWC customer, you are automatically signed up for PWC CodeRed notifications. No registration is needed. A new tree is a great addi- tion to anyone's property, but if planted in the wrong area or not planted correctly, it can grow to be a big problem! Learn how to select a tree or large shrub that is appropriate for our climate and how and where to properly plant it to ensure healthy growth through FTCC! Plan. Plant. Protect. is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 9:00am - 12:00pm at the Horticultural Education Center, located at 670 North Eastern Boulevard. The class costs $25.00 and includes a walking tour of the Cape Fear Botanical Garden. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a gift certificate to- wards the purchase of a tree from a local nursery. Green thumb not required, but pre-registration is! What's New: Annual Water Changeover Fayetteville PWC has temporarily stopped adding ammonia to its water treatment disinfection process. The annual water system maintenance is required by the State and lasts from March 1 - March 31. During the change, customers may notice a chlorine smell or taste in their water as well as see fire hydrants running to flush the system.
