June 18, 2014 www.DesertMessenger.com 7 Opinions expressed in letters to the editor do not necessarily represent those of the Desert Messenger. OPINION letters to the editor I'M CURIOUS... 1:00 a.m. begins the morning hours - NOT 12 midnight. So why is 12 midnight called 12:00 a.m.? 12 midnight should be called 12:00 p.m. because it fol- lows 11:00 p.m. 1:00 p.m. begins the evening hours - NOT 12 noon. So why is 12 noon called 12:00 p.m.? 12 noon should e called 12:00 a.m. because it follows 11:00 a.m. It goes without saying that the number Twelve ALWAYS comes AFTER the number Eleven; at least that's what I learned in school! Am I missing something? Joanne Robinson, WITH SYMPATHY We all of TOPS 0078 (and all the TOPS from around the world) want to extend our heart- felt sympathy to Ruth (VRuth, as she's known to many). Her husband, Gale, had a heart attack, several, and passed on the morning May 19th, 2014. A lot of us knew her husband Gale. We want you to know, Ruth, that we all love you and feel your sadness of your loss. We hope that in some way with all the love and prayers going to you and your family you will receive some kind of comfort from us all. We are so very sorry and greatly love and honor and respect you. God be with you and your family. Gale you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Glenda Kae Hines year-round resident, Quartzsite DEADLINE : WED.
