Anger has caused more damage in this world than any other emotion. Recent school shootings and priest attacks obviously didn't occure because people were at peace with themselves. Media has jumped on the band wagon to blame every dysfunction in our society. Perpetrators seem to be winning the battle when the reporters dig into their lives and we talk about them for weeks after an incident. All this talk gives future fame seekers the vehicle to get the attention they crave. Being a new grandmother, I think of the life my grandchild will have. Her parents are loving, thoughtful and strong in their plans to raise this beautiful child with health, happiness, integrity and respect. Integrity and respect often seem to be missing in discussions about Quartzsite politics. Some politi- cians get addicted to fi nding what's wrong, while forgetting to brag up what's working to improve society. I know, in order to change, one needs to be aware of what's not working, however some folks just harp on the negative without fi nd- ing solutions for the future. When our words are fi lled with anger, our hearts get cut off from feeling love and compassion. Imag- ine a political season fi lled with folks who place ads in support of what they love about their com- munity. Imagine a political season fi lled with hope and focus on a better future without the anger, threats of blood being shed or jobs being lost. Imagine people com- ing together to discuss solutions instead of pointing fi ngers at their opponents. Time will tell. "Watch your words....your heart is listening." ~ Eleanor Brownn Just Rambling...
