A 20, 2011 EASTER “SONRISE” SERVICE? We invite everyone of all denomi- nations to attend our Easter “Sonrise” Service out in the Brenda desert God’s Little Church In The Desert will once again hold our regular Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday morning April 24th beginning at 6:00 am. We are out in the desert North of Brenda. Go down Perry Lane then a little ways farther on the Perry Lane gravel road and then a left turn. There will be plenty of signs leading the way. This is always a beautiful service and very inspirational out here in the desert. So if your church does not have a sunrise service and you would like to experience one, come join us and experience the true feeling of Eas- ter. Hot coffee and Big homemade cinnamon rolls will be served after the service around a big campfi re. Hope to see you there where you will meet a lot of friendly people. Pastor Rick Roland, Sr. FOOD BANK UPDATES Submitted by Carol Kelley Thank you to all you winter visi- tors that dropped off your extra food you didn’t want to carry to your other home. Our summer hours will remain the same: 8am-12 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are serving about 60 families and singles a week. We have several wonderful organiza- tions and churchs helping us to feed the needy. Without their help and dedi- cation we could not do all that we do. We even have a few special people that deliver and drive people home who are without vehicles. It’s wonderful to see .DM. the cooperation between our volunteers, the food from the goverment and the help we get from the town in pick-ups. Quartzsite is a special place to live! Our volunteers work very hard sort- ing and packing boxs to feed the needy. We are always in need of snacks or drinks for our volunteers, plastic bags to sort food, and most of all food. So hats off to the great ones here in Quartzsite! LIBRARY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS The Quartzsite Library needs volun- teers to help with mid-day customers. If you have an hour or so to spare be- fore, during or after lunch, your help will be appreciated. Even an hour, one day a week will help library staff to get caught up. Every spring the library re- ceives donations as winter visitors are leaving town. With the busy months of January, February and March behind us, library staff have a lot of work to do, weeding the collection, repairing books, etc. When the library fi rst opened at Town Hall in 1994 maybe 10 or 11 peo- ple used the library each day. Now, the average number of patrons is over one hundred each day in the slow months, so volunteers are needed in the spring and summer. Please stop by the library at 465 N. Plymouth Ave. or call 928-927-6593 if you are interested in volunteering. It’s a cool way to spend a hot day! Donate $10 to American Red Cross. Text “REDCROSS” to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
