Whether it was a stand-alone store or the butcher counter at the local market, we could count on the knowledgeable experts there to help with our selections— What's good? What's fresh? How should I cook this? If you think those days are long gone, you haven't been to Richard's Country Meat Market in Fayetteville. For nearly 30 years, this classic meat market has been the place to go for the best selection of prime cuts of beef, pork, chicken, lamb, veal, sausage, seafood and more. A trip to Richard's iconic butcher counter will make you never want to buy mass-market grocery chain meat and seafood again. Owner Richard McGinnis has dedicated his adult life to providing superior meats and customer service. He started young in the food industry, and now has more than forty-five years of experience from which he offers sage advice to those seeking the finest ingredients, recipes, and cooking techniques. The original Country Time Meat Shoppe opened in Fayetteville in the 1980s. In 1997, Richard made it his own family business, renaming it Richard's Country Meat Market. Peruse the large glass cases and you'll discover an amazing array of prime cuts of beef, pork and chicken, along with lamb, veal and more. In addition, there are endless varieties of Italian sausage, bratwurst, thick-sliced bacon and more… all ready to turn into one-of-a-kind meals. Richard's can meet your seafood needs as well, with 8-12 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available on any given day, along with an impressive selection of frozen fish. They'll also have live crawfish available sometime after the middle of February, depending on the weather. Helpful staff are on hand to answer questions and help you choose just the right cuts and selections in exactly the quantity you need (less waste!)—just four sausages, not a package of six…three chicken breasts…a pound and a half of beef freshly ground that day. "We pride ourselves in having top-choice and prime-rated meat," says McGinnis of his steaks. "But it's really our customer service and quality that separates us from the competition." Vast selection, old-fashioned customer service Richard's Country Meat Market features fine meats and seafood 42 What's up! February 6-12, 2022
