Alex Bentley with her Advanced Law Enforcement Certifi cate. The Advanced Law Enforcement Certifi cate is the highest level of professional certifi cation issued by the by the North Carolina Department of Justice Criminal Justice Educations and Training Standards Division. The Advanced Law Enforcement Certifi cate is awarded to offi cers who have completed the required years of service, professional training and education. In a letter by Director Stephen G Combs to Sgt. Bentley, Comb's wrote "May I be the fi rst to offer you congratulations on the attainment of the most signifi cant award. Your dedication to your chosen profession is evidenced in the fact that you are one of a very select group of offi cers to receive this honor."
