March 6, 2013 www.DesertMessenger.com LETTERS FROM PAGE 4 ed to think about their actions and the results. In this case they had caused damage and it was going to cost me money. The father quickly stated the kids would pay for the damages by getting jobs and earning the money. We turned down the offer and said we would cover the damages, but we wanted the kids to understand in the future that their actions could cost some money. We accepted the kids apology and thanked the parents for guring out what had happened and bringing the kids around. THE BAD, some kids tossed eggs and thought it was a funny joke. THE GOOD, the kids are very lucky to have such good parents. Parents that take an interest in their kids and demand they be upstanding citizens. It is great to live in Quartzsite where kids are kids. But even better when kids do wrong and the parents enforce common sense and demand better of their offspring. A very big Thank You to the Parents. Skip Gallup QPD thanks quilters The Quartzsite Police Department (QPD) staff would like to thank the Quartzsite Quilters Club for their recent donation of 36 hand-made quilts and pillow cases. They can be a very valuable tool in aiding victims of traumatic situations. We appreciate the generosity, time, and thoughtfulness sewn into each and every one of them. Thank you. Quartzsite Police Department Thank you note On January 12th, 2013 Bob, my beloved husband of 50 years, passed away. The outpouring of love from family, friends and neighbors from near and far, was a showing of loving kindness; most thoughtful and very humbling. I love Bob very much, but now I know how much he was loved by others. Thank you all Iris Page 5 I have just three things to teach: simplicity, patience, compassion.
