March 6, 2013 www.DesertMessenger.com Quartzsite Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (QSAPC) The Quartzsite Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (QSAPC) was started in 2007. This is a group of community members raising awareness about drug and alcohol abuse in the youth and adults in our community. The mission of the QSAPC is to prevent the misuse and abuse of drugs and alcohol in the Quartzsite community. QSAPC has created a Dump the Drugs Site. Did you know there is place in Quartzsite to dispose of your expired or unused medications? The QSAPC has a Dump the Drugs location at our local Quartzsite Police Department, located at 305 N. Plymouth Rd. This is a place where anyone can dispose of those potentially dangerous, unused and expired medications. We urge everyone to please use this site so the medications are not accidently taken or end up in the hands of children. QSAPC also has a youth sector. The youth group is called Quartzsite Youth Coalition (QYC). QYC has many youth driven projects and events planned. Back in February QYC held a Valentines Dance at the Quartzsite Community Center, they had a great turnout and a lot of fun. There was information on alcohol and substance abuse prevention.
