If you are an American you either feel good about the state of your current life in America or you don't. You either feel confi dent that those nearest and dearest to you will continue to live in a country that is free, safe and secure or you don't. You either have a confi dent vision that your children and your children's children will be able to live, thrive and enjoy, at least minimally, the standard of living and quality of life that you have enjoyed or you don't! knowledge and competence when it comes to being a responsible and "informed" voter. Yes, by going to the polls and exercising our most cherished privilege as Americans, you will have the opportunity to directly infl uence the future of generations yet to come. Voting is important and, in these trying times, it has become even more vital. This upcoming election is extremely important at all levels — local, state and national. So, have your vote count by making an exerted effort to know the issues, candidates and challenges facing us. Become more and better informed on all issues of local, state and national importance. This is no time for Americans to claim "ignorance is bliss" when it comes to safeguarding traditional freedoms and assuring our heritage and continued American way of life. Here's an idea for our readers. Before you go to the polls this election day, take this short quiz and share it with your friends. So, if you or your friends end up scratching your heads, going blank or guessing at the answers you may want to become a little more cognizant about what's going on in the world around you. Here's my point: If, we as American citizens, are not aware of what is going on in the world how can we expect change on Nov. 7. You need to be part of that change.
