The GIS Data Viewer 2.0 features expanded layers, tools and the ability to create spreadsheets. The viewer replaces the Tax Parcel Viewer but offers the same information including a few new layers and features. The new data viewer also provides the 2017 Cumberland County real property revaluation information with a link to the Tax Administration Office's property information sheet. The GIS Data Viewer 2.0 is available on the County's GIS Maps & Apps site at co.cumberland.nc.us/is_technology/gis.aspx. New features on the data viewer include a new interface featuring an IntelliSense search textbox, responsive design for use in mobile devices and various browsers, added layers including Airport Overlay District and townships and a comma separate value file format in plain text that can be imported into a spreadsheet or word document. Meet the Pollinators At Extension Feb. 14 Cumberland County Cooperative Extension invites you to "Meet the Pollinators" Feb. 14 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in the Agriculture Center located at 301 E. Mountain Dr. The Better Living Series workshop will teach the importance of plant-pollinating insects, such as honeybees, in helping farmers produce the crops we need for our food supply. Honeybees are the most important pollinators, helping farmers grow vegetables like strawberries, blueberries, melons, pumpkins and cucumbers and crops like cotton, peanuts and soybeans. According to North Carolina State Extension, honeybees have accounted for $96 million in annual fruit production and $186 million in total crop productivity in North Carolina over the last five years.
