Truck drivers were able to get a free lunch provided by Walmart and served by CHP volunteers, a free soda or water from Sierra Ne- vada Brewing Co. and visit several booths of various trucking indus- try companies to get information. "I think it's wonderful," said Ju- lian Coombs, a truck driver from Seattle, Washington. "It's cool to be appreciated." James Fortenbery of Albuquer- que, New Mexico said he appreci- ated the gesture as well and found the event to be very informative and a good place to ask questions. Booths present included the California Environmental Protec- tion Agency Air Resource Board, California State Board of Equal- ization, California Trucker's Asso- ciation, California Highway Patrol and California DMV. Gina Norred, a licensed regis- tration examiner, was manning the DMV booth to answer ques- tions and hand out DMV hand- books of rules. JULIE ZEEB — DAILY NEWS By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews. com @DN_Heather on Twitter REDBLUFF Homecomingweek at Red Bluff Union High School was filled with dress-up days and school spirt, continuing the celebration with a school rally and the homecoming parade held Friday afternoon. The parade began at the school and went east on Wal- nut Street to Main Street and back around to the school, with floats created by each class rep- resenting the theme this year, which is "Spartans Go To Hol- lywood." Each float was created around a movie that the classes chose. The freshman class chose Indiana Jones as their movie- themed float, the sophomores chose Monsters Inc., the juniors chose Pirates of the Caribbean and the Seniors chose to dec- orate their float with a Harry Potter movie theme. The junior varsity cheerlead- ers joined the parade with their own float dressed in their green and gold uniforms before the JV football homecoming game. Red Bluff FFA members par- ticipated in the parade with a tractor pulling them along the parade route. The homecoming dance, the final event of homecoming week, is scheduled for Saturday Night.
