ByScottCamp Thefamily-favoriteholi- days are upon us in just a couple of weeks and there are lots of things going on. Good Morning Red Bluff will be a week early due to Thanksgiving and will be at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19th at Hoyt-Cole Chapel of Flowers on Walnut Street. Red Bluff's annual Christmas Parade will be downtown starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28. Dates aren't set yet, but there will be at least one other holiday event in De- cember. Dave Gowan and I made the quarterly chamber re- port to City Council in Oc- tober and got the council caught up on the various events and updates con- cerning the chamber and its members. They were appre- ciativeofthechamber'scon- tribution to the community. The first ever Cham- ber Directory and Visitor's Guide will be delivered to the chamber mid Novem- ber. We will start distrib- uting copies to local ho- tels and motels, local visi- tor attractions, the Tehama Country Visitor Center and to you, the members. This publication will serve many purposes for the chamber, in particular the directory will be the tool for you to use instead of the Yellow Pages when you're try- ing to find services, prod- ucts or people in our com- munity. Other Chambers have found that member- to-member purchases and networking increase in a significant way. Visitors will find this guide to be a wonderful resource as a "place to go" to find out everything they need as they visit the community. The guide has many articles about events, shopping, hospitality, res- taurants and attractions. I want to continue to hammer home the remarks I made at the banquet in September: The business of the chamber is business. We exist to serve the needs of our members. Every- thing we do: Farmers mar- kets, Good Morning Red Bluff, Business Expo, ban- quets, publications, promot- ing community events that are sponsored by others, ev- erything we do is aimed at helping our members grow their businesses. We count on you to let us know how we're doing, where we can do better in serving you, suggestions for services we might provide. We are working on a pi- lot program with the Small Business Development Cen- ter from Butte College to put together a menu of pro- grams including personal one-on-one business coun- seling and group training on the tools needed to be successful in your business. The business of the chamber is business. Stay tuned. Parade Register today for "A Sto- rybook Christmas" Down- town Red Bluff Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. Satur- day, Nov. 28.
