At the Association of the United States Army's annual meeting, the new Army Chief of Staff, General Milley, announced "Readiness" as the number one Army priority. In the same speech he cited the need for budget stability. The recently passed House budget provides predictability and the resources needed to address military readiness. Budget stability over the next two years also provides predictability in defense- related contracting. With the passage of this budget, many anticipate that military-related requirements that have been delayed can now begin to move ahead, providing opportunities for our chamber members and the overall region. The Greater Fayetteville Chamber is committed to supporting our members and the military that provides an invaluable engine to our economy. When the military has stability then our members enjoy greater predictability, and overall this keeps our city and region strong.
