The cost is $10 per animal. Please keep your dog on a leash. Keep your cats in separate carriers or boxes or leave them in your car. Owners may be held responsible for their pets and for any damage they cause. The only method of payment accepted is cash. Please bring exact change to pay the cost of $10 per animal. Checks will not be accepted. Please do not bring rolled coins. For more information, call the Environmental Health Division at 433-3660. County Holds Rabies Clinic Oct. 10 The Cumberland County Department of Public Health's Environmental Health Division has received a $350,000 grant from the Food and Drug Administration to go toward the division's Food and Lodging Progress and Review of Program Standards. The FDA grant will be distributed $70,000 annually for the next five years with the intended outcome to advance efforts for an integrated food safety system by assisting Food and Lodging Section to achieve conformance with the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards. The funding will be used to support a new position focused on the implementation of the Retail Program Standards, support for specialized training of Environmental Health staff, as well as outreach and education to consumers and the retail food industry. Health Department Receives FDA Grant The Cumberland County Board of Elections reminds citizens One-Stop voting is available for the Oct. 6 municipal primary election. One-Stop voting will be held through Oct. 3 at the Board of Elections office at 227 Fountainhead Lane in the E. Newton Smith Center. Hours for One-Stop voting are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 3.
