AUGUST 12-18, 2015 UCW 17 WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM The Tony Rand Student Center located at Fayetteville Technical Community College's Fayetteville Campus is now open following renova- tions. Student Services, Admissions, Assessment, Registrar and Financial Aid have now returned to the Tony Rand Student Center from the general classroom building. Even though classes for the fall semester begin Monday, Aug.17, it is not too late to register for classes. Students can take the assessment (if necessary) and register for classes — all in the same day. FTCC offers a no-interest payment plan that requires a $25 non-refundable enrollment fee. Depending on the enrollment date, students pay either a third or half of the tuition and fees up front. Then one or two monthly installment(s) are automatically drafted from the account used to set up the plan. This payment-plan option is great for students who may be eligible to receive financial aid but missed the various windows of opportunity for financial aid benefits to be processed for fall semester. Students may also now begin the admissions process for September and/or October registration for 8-week classes. This option is an alternative for students who prefer to wait for financial aid avail- ability before starting classes. Visit www.faytechcc. edu and click on "Get Started" on the home page, which provides a link directly to the free College Foundation of North Carolina application used by FTCC for students interested in applying for finan- cial aid. Once the application process is complete, an email is immediately sent to the email address used during the application process. FTCC also pro- vides a letter to the student at the physical address provided when completing the CFNC application. The email received by the student applying for financial aid outlines the steps for admissions and provides important links for requesting a transcript from high school or other colleges, to financial aid information, to admissions counseling and to the assessment and placement office. The email also provides links to helpful information about military and veteran services, health counseling and the Spring Lake and Fort Bragg campus locations. FTCC's letter to applicants provides student log- in and password setup information for email and WebAdvisor accounts. Even before registering for classes, all FTCC applicants receive a student email account and a WebAdvisor account. The student email account is very important in that FTCC pri- marily communicates via this system. Additionally, WebAdvisor is an excellent tool for applicants and students. Through WebAdvisor, applicants and stu- dents can manage financial aid, register for classes, contact an advisor, view class grades, request tran- scripts and for students who are paying tuition out- of-pocket it facilitates the set up of a payment plan. Even in our high-tech world, it is often helpful to receive face-to-face assistance, and we at FTCC are proud to offer that level of personal touch. We invite you to visit the newly renovated Tony Rand Student Center soon to begin the admissions process. Thank you for making Fayetteville Technical Community College your school of choice!
