By Howard Fendrich The Associated Press PHOENIX Tom Brady began winning Super Bowls when Russell Wilson was still a teen- ager, tuning in to see the big game on TV. "Of course I remember watching Brady," Wilson said Tuesday. "He won some incred- ible games. Incredible come- backs. Incredible throws. In- credible plays. Hopefully he doesn't make too many incred- ible ones this year." When Wilson leads the Se- attle Seahawks into the Super Bowl against Brady and the New England Patriots on Sun- day, both quarterbacks know the outcome will affect the way each is viewed for quite a while. Wilson can become the eighth starting QB to win con- secutive Super Bowl champion- ships, and the first since Brady did it 10 years ago. According to STATS, Wilson also would be the first to claim two in his first three years in the league (as it is, he's the first starting quarterback to make it to two Super Bowls that quickly). Brady, meanwhile, won ti- tles in 2002, 2004 and 2005. Johnson, 42, has spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Li- ons and has also coached in the NFL with the Buffalo Bills (2010- 11) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2012) as either an assistant of- fensive line or tight ends coach. Smith, 33, rejoins special teams coordinator Brad Seely after spending the last three seasons as a special teams assistant with the San Francisco 49ers. The hires of Moore and Par- malee were reported Sunday. Moore, a former first-round draft pick, was with the Bills last sea- son. He is a former first-round draft pick and an 11-year NFL vet- eran with 628 career receptions for 9,368 yards. Parmalee was an assistant coach at Kansas last season after spending 2010-12 with the Kansas City Chiefs coaching tight ends. He played nine seasons as a run- ning back with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. The Raiders have yet to name a defensive coordinator and most recently interviewed Louis- ville defensive coordinator Todd Grantham on Sunday. According to an ESPN report, Mike Smith, believed to be one of Jack Del Rio's top choices as de- fensive coordinator, is likely to take the season off rather than coach in 2015. Smith, Del Rio's defensive coordinator in Jackson- ville, was fired as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in the offsea- son and remains under contract. Brian Vickers is eager to get back on the racetrack and prove to everyone he still has what it takes to win Sprint Cup races following emergency open heart surgery last month. "Reports of my demise have been greatly exaggerated," Vick- ers said Tuesday during NAS- CAR's annual media week. "I am still kicking." Vickers will miss the first two Cup races as part of his recov- ery process, but has been given a clean bill of health to begin rac- ing March 8 at Las Vegas. He will drive the No. 55 Aaron's Toyota for Michael Waltrip Racing. Vickers said doctors told him that three months will be more than enough time for his chest to heal after they were forced to crack open his sternum on Dec. 15 to repair a hole in his heart for a second time. "I feel great," said Vickers, a three-time Sprint Cup Series win- ner who had nine top-10 finishes last season and finished 22nd in the final standings.
