The eight-week art appreciation series will be taught by local artist Carla Roberson. The program runs from Wednesday, Oct. 2 through Thursday, Nov. 21. At the conclusion of the series, the art work will be displayed during an art show on Saturday, Dec. 7 in conjunction with the annual fundraiser for Special Olympics Cumberland County: Gifts Galore & S.O. Much More, which is held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Gilmore Therapeutic Recreation Center on Purdue Drive. Pickup a Parks & Recreation Activities Guide Today The Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation Activities Guide September-February edition is now available at P&R facilities, recreation centers and on the Parks & Recreation website at www.fcpr.us. The guide is also distributed to children and their parents through Cumberland County Schools. The guide includes programs and classes offered at Parks & Recreation's numerous recreation centers, parks and facilities. The current guide also features stories about the Youth Development Program and Partner in Prevention efforts. Available on the website in PDF, the publication is also accessible as an Issuu file, which allows for a more interactive reading experience.
