page 5 | University of Missouri Mu Mu has an exciting year planned! Our daytime Gamma group has scheduled monthly lunches and several programs, including an annual salad luncheon in May. Our Welcome Back event in September attracted nearly 40 sisters representing 12 collegiate chapters, and we raised over $35,000 for the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and our local shelter, Rose Brooks Center, at our 19th annual Silence the Violence philanthropic event. At our Founders' Day dinner, we honored our 15-, 50- and 60-year members and named the Alpha Chi of the Year. We are planning a cookie exchange/collection of holiday donations for Rose Brooks Center in December and White Elephant in January. Our March meeting will be a celebration of Alpha Chi rituals and traditions—a renewal and reminder of all the things that make our sisterhood special. In April, we'll have a cocktail party and learn new craft cocktail recipes, and Hall of Commitment ceremonies will be in April and May. We also have in-person volunteer events at our local domestic violence shelter and music bingo fundraisers for our Research Medical Center project, supplying undergarments for victims of sexual assault. We try to meet quarterly; this year, that was the fifth Tuesday of the month. We have done art projects, learned about flower arranging and enjoyed some yummy dinners together. The highlight of the year is our annual holiday shopping night in Jefferson City, where we get an "Alpha Chi discount" at Carrie's Hallmark, owned by one of our members. The night also involves some wine and pizza. We support the local domestic violence shelters and the collegiate chapters at Mizzou and William Woods, and we have so much fun together. Join us!
