G, 527-8491 x 3107 Homemade laundry detergent update I was going to begin today's column by apologizing for yet another update on how to make homemade laundry detergent. Then it struck me. These aren't really changes -- they're improvements. And with that, I'm excited to share the my Newest! and Most Improved! version of my Quick 'n' Easy Homemade Laundry Detergent. To make 1 gallon of liquid laundry detergent, assemble the following: A 1-gallon plastic container with tight-fitting lid. I used an empty Arrowhead water jug. Borax. Find Twenty Mule Team Borax, or any brand of borax, in the laundry aisle of your supermarket or a department store like WalMart or Target. Super Washing Soda OR soda ash. Super Washing Soda (sodium carbonate) is becoming increasingly difficult to find. If you can't find it in the laundry aisle somewhere, consider using its twin, soda ash (sodium carbonate), instead. You will find it in pool supply stores. Blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. There seems to be multiple versions of blue Dawn these days. I've seen it as "Original," "Ultra Concentrated" and, most recently, Police reports The following information is compiled from Red Bluff Police Department, Tehama County Sheriff's Department, Corning Police Department and California Highway Patrol. Arrests • Heather Lee Boswell, 29, Cottonwood was arrested Thursday at Luther Road and Mill Street for felony possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sale. Culbertson had an outstanding felony parole violation and misdemeanors of failure to appear and possession of marijuana. Bail was $6,000. • Clinton Keith Cullum, 37, Cottonwood was arrested Sunday at Star Mart in Cottonwood for four counts of felony failure to appear, a bench warrant for failure to appear, felony grand theft of an animal, and misdemeanor work program violation. Bail was $345,000. • Christopher Calvin Fackrell aka Chris Calvin Meier, 32, Red Bluff was arrested Saturday at Sale Lane near the Farm Bureau building for felony transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, person prohibited from owning a firearm and a flash incarceration Post Release Community Supervision hold.
