Even the Gard- ner-Webb students got a chance to try this popular game, which many had never heard of….but loved it! Swimming events are done by a special group of loyal participants each year. Staff from Shelby City Park works with the participants at the Shelby High School pool. The Cleveland County Senior Games are an annu- al event with senior adults, age 50 and better. It's a much-anticipated event, with participants demon- strating their talents in sporting events, as well as in artistic media. The pandemic forced the 2020 games into cancellation, but with the guidance of the NC Senior Games head- quarters in Cary, NC, the 2021 games recently took place! The events were very successful with 92 partici- pants showing their sporting and artistic skills. Cleveland County Senior Games Return Let's Get Active Again Now that the Neal Center has reopened, that means the return of some favorite classes! While not all activities are yet scheduled, the following are currently scheduled: • Carolina Line Dancing- Tuesday, 9:45-10:45am-Taught by Evelyn Kiser • Zumba Gold-Wednesday and Friday, 11:00am-12 noon-Taught by Toni Heberlig • Acrylic Painting-Tuesday, 10:15am- 12:15pm-Taught by Suzette Proffi t For further information on these classes, please contact Daniel Dedmon at the Neal Center @ 704/481-7387.
