During her time in high school, Olivia has been an astrobiology intern with the NASA and Lassen Volcanic National Park Astrobiology program. After earning her bachelors, Olivia plans to go onto graduate school to earn her PHD in cell biology to be a research scientist. Rachel Ward plans to attend California State University Chico with a goal of earning her Masters in Business Administration. Her many accomplishments include ASB president, homecoming queen, top academic senior, president of GSA, Kiwanis student of the quarter, first place and best of show in Tehama County Art Contest, and all league defender in soccer. Rachel has also earned the McConnell Foundation Scholarship and the California State University Chico Presidential Scholarship. Honorable, empathetic, optimistic are just a few of the ways people describe Skylar Milligan, a junior at Sacramento River Discovery Charter School. Anyone who knows Skylar knows that these words embody the true essence of who he is. He is a confident young man, full of integrity, and sure about his role in society as a leader. Skylar's goals for the future begin with the U.S. Military and then a career in law enforcement. He is currently active in the Explorer's program and Leadership and loves to spend time working on cars. Justin Levous-Patidar plans to attend UC Davis and study Biochemical Engineering. During high school he has been Vice President of CSF and Math and Science club. He is the recipient of the Gates Millenium scholarship and the Lyons Club scholarship. "Phoebe is an eighth grade student at Manton Elementary School. She is a responsible and conscientious student that sets high goals for herself. She was the ACSA All Star Student of the year, has been on the honor roll for the past two years, has been the student council secretary and publicity manager, and played on the basketball team. She plays the fiddle and sings in the Bluegrass Music Program. She is a member of the 4-H Club and has held many leadership positions. She has a positive personality and is a friend to everyone at our school." Francesca Aguilar is an accomplished performer, who has appeared in Mercy's Spring Musical all four years of her attendance. Francesca has been accepted to Azusa Pacific University, CSU Chico, and George Fox University. Francesca will attend George Fox University, majoring in Theatre. She would like to go to Broadway and travel the world. Francesca has been active in other school activities, including Volleyball, cheerleading, Friday Night Live, Relay for Life, and CSF. Francesca was chosen Rotary Student of the Month, Elk's Student of the Month, and Kiwanis Student of the Quarter. She is the daughter of Domingo and Stephanie Aguilar of Corning. She has earned a grade point average exceeding 4.0. Heidy has been selected Rotary Student of the Month, Rotary Student of the Year, Elk's Student of the Month, and departmental "Student of the Month" numerous times. She has been a delegate to Girl's State and a participant in the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project. Heidy has served as officer for the student body and school clubs. She has still found the time to donate many hours to community service through mentoring, coaching, and providing care for children. Heidy has had a positive impact on our school and community. James Chrasta is an honor roll student at Lassen View. He runs the school sound system, dedicating several hours of behind-the-scenes work to ensure that school performances run smoothly. He has served on the student council, and participates in school basketball and softball. James possesses a natural ability in writing and critical thinking. His love of technology and sports (particularly baseball) are inspiring. He has a witty sense of humor, and enjoys making others smile. Jasmine Hayden is an 8th grade student who has quietly put together quite an educational career at Los Molinos Elementary. She has maintained a 4.0 GPA and has participated in volleyball. After graduation, Jasmine plans on attending Los Molinos High School where she wants to focus on her grades for the first couple of years and then get involved with the AVID program. After high school, Jasmine wants to go to college and then medical school to become a pediatrician. Jay is involved in band and the arts. He exemplifies strength of character, and it is noticed and appreciated by his classmates. He has been honored as Student of the Month by the Elks Lodge this year and has made the honor roll consistently. Here are a few statements from their classmates: "Jay is very hard working and honest, like when he does something he's not supposed to, he admits it and takes blame." "Jay has a great attitude and is trustworthy, and honest." Congratulations Jay Joseph! Jazmin Mejia is an excellent example for her peers. Not only is she an honor roll student, but she is also a great friend and good citizen. Jazmin is artistic as well as academic. She hopes to one day pursue a career in fashion design, and her natural inclinations will serve her well in that field. She is a hard worker, always turning in her work neat and complete. She is involved in school volleyball and music, including the 8th grade ladies' choir. She is an example of quiet grace and strength. Jenny is a respectful, thoughtful, and high achieving student. When it comes to school assignments, she is always on time and accurate. Her quality of work is top notch in both content and appearance. Socially, Jenny is kind and considerate of others, and whenever asked to participate in class, she is always happy to be an active participant. Jenny plays soccer both on and off campus on a traveling team. In addition to sports, Jenny is involved with Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a program that makes wigs which are donated to cancer victims. Just recently Jenny cut off twelve inches of her hair to donate to this program. Jenny plans on growing her hair out again so she can make another donation.
