Dance school to present 'Grateful Hearts' Popular KHSL and KNVN newsman Matt Vaughan will host the second annual Red Bluff's Got Talent showcase Saturday, June 1, at the Elks Lodge, 355 Gilmore Road in Red Bluff. All tickets include the entertainment and a full dinner, which will feature a fresh spring salad, Chicken Marsala, vegetables, garlic bread, beverages and lemon meringue for desert. Tickets are only $12 for those 13 and younger and $16 for those 14 and older and are now on sale at Wild Oak, on Oak Street in downtown Red Bluff during business hours or anytime online at www.northstateevents.info . Vaughan, who you may have seen on the popular daily "Wake Up" morning program on channels 12 and 24, has been in the north state for almost 3 years now. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in Radio/TV Broadcasting, and has 18 years of performance experience ranging from acting in community theater productions to singing at community events and emceeing various talent shows. He's also co-hosted the annual Boys & Girls Club Telethon fundraiser for the clubs in the Manteca/Lathrop area for the past 12 years. This year's Red Bluff's Got Talent will feature 24 acts by performers ranging in age from 8 to 78. Three winners -- as determined by four wellknown local celebrities and dignitaries -- will divide more than $1,000 in prizes provided by Red Bluff merchants, Included will be goods, services and gift certificates from Gumm's Optical Shop, Dr. Lesa Lane, First Love Tattoos, Vitality, T.J.'s Antiques, Firehouse Pizza, Ramos Doughnuts, Round Table Pizza, Nail & Hair Design, Wholesome Goods, Wild Oak, Modern Cleaners, We Shot Ya Photography, Three Generations, Hair Goddess, Tai's Deli, Los Mariachi's, Ringtail Vineyards, Sky River, and Luigi's Pizza, with even more to come in the final week before the big show. Pink Photo Contest Courtesy photo Selah Dance Academy's poster winner Savannah Wakeman is pictured with Mrs. Shannons Pre-1 class. Selah will be performing "Grateful Hearts" at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, at the State Theatre, 333 Oak St. in Red Bluiff. A $3 donation will be taken at the door. The 4th Annual Pink Photo Contest winners will be featured on the 2013-2014 Think Pink Calendar, with 40,000 copies distributed on Think Pink Day, Oct. 17. The deadline to enter is 5 p.m. July 15. You may upload as many pictures as you would like to be considered. Photos should be submitted at http://www.norcalthinkpink.org/pink-photo-contest.php. The winning photos will be chosen by the Nor-Cal Think Pink Board of Directors. The winning photos will be published and the photographer acknowledged in the 2013-2014 Breast Health Calendar. The calendar is handed out on Think Pink Day, Oct. 17 in 40,000 educational bags. You must be able to provide a version of the photo that is at least 300 dpi at about 8 x 10 inches for print quality. Artwork on display at new visitors center in Red Bluff The Tehama County Photo Club along with nine quilters from the Sun Country Quilters will be showing their work 5-8 p.m. Saturday June 1 in the new art gallery space at the Tehama Country Visitor Center, 250 Antelope Blvd. The Photo Club will be showing images from around Tehama County and the surrounding areas while the ladies from Sun Country Quilters will present their quilt of Downtown Red Bluff, which took Best of Show from the club's recent quilt show. There will be refreshments and wine tasting. The soon to open Tehama Country Visitor Center includes an art gallery section with profes- sional hanging system and lighting, which brings to the community another location for local artisans to show their work. This will be your chance to take a peek at the new Visitors Center and enjoy an evening of photography. Not all the dust has settled at the Visitor Center and some of the displays are still in the works but you will see what a brilliant addition to the community it is going to be. The show will be running through the end of June.
